SACHIKO KOBAYASHI
Sachiko Kobayashi is originally from Nagano, Japan, and has been living in Cork for twelve years. Sachiko makes and designs different papercrafts, mainly origami and paper cuttings.
Sachiko has led and delivered origami workshops all over Ireland for ten years. She has led origami workshops at arts festivals and craft fairs in Cork and Clare; taught origami to children, second level and third level students in Cork, Dublin and Limerick; organised charity fundraisers, employee work and volunteer organization events; and demonstrated origami on special themes such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Slow Art Day, Christmas and Japanese culture in a great variety of events and settings.
Sachiko has exhibited her origami art at several exhibitions including Love Directions at One Space Culture, Rathcormac; New Yin Art at Crane Visual, Dance Cork Firkin Crane; and the English Market Gallery, Cork City. She is a previous Artist of The Month at Silkes Arts and Crafts, Limerick. Her work has featured in the Echo Live newspaper (Women On Wednesday) as a part of the New Yin Art exhibition of 12 female artists.
