MERI GRUBIC

I’m a painter and craft artist. I draw inspiration from everyday life, while sitting in a busy café,
while riding on a bus, while picking clothes in a charity shop, etc. I enjoy observing people and
catching their emotions and expressions whilst talking to their friends, kids or random
strangers.
I've spent most of my life in Belgrade (Serbia) where I graduated from a college of graphic
design in 2010.
I've been drawing and painting ever since I can remember and some of my work made its way
to notable art exhibitions in Belgrade.
For the last 10+ years I've been active as a freelance illustrator through multiple online
platforms. My illustrations are usually kids oriented and I've illustrated a complete book for a
kid’s school of music.
I have lived in Cork - Ireland since 2017 with my husband and two children.
I’ve taken part at the Kilkenny Art Festival in August 2023, with some of my paintings and I
was very happy with the feedback and interest in my work. I’ve also exhibited my work in
West End Art Studio in Mallow in Sept/Oct 2023 and March 2024.

I am very active in craft market scene with my hand made jewelry.

I am very excited and motivated to join and find my place in a very rich and inspirational Irish art
scene.
